Early Victorian Swimwear (from Pauline Weston Thomas for Fashion-Era.com)
A friend commented that she would like a swimsuit in the style of the running suits men wear these days. My Mum also commented she would prefer to see a return to victorian style suits. Certainly swimwear in the USA is far more flattering than that available in the UK, so I would like to bring some American styles over here – any views? Katy
Couldn’t agree more . I have searched the web for this style swimwear. This is also the common style in China as several chinese ladies swim at my health club and when I asked where they bought their costumes, reply ‘ When retun home or have sent from home’ . Also all that is needed is for the ‘Tankini’ top and bottom to be joined together and that would be the perfect style swimsuit, oh and also to be made in plus sizes.
Absolutely right, I am convinced that men design most swimwear and then model it on young women who simply don’t have so many curves or so much flesh!
