New research has shown that girls are ‘developing in the chest area’ (Womans Hour Jenni Murray’s words!) sooner than ever in Western Europe. In the 60s and 70’s, the average age for breast development would have been 13 to 15, by the 1990’s, this had fallen to age eleven and up, but now its dropped to age ten and up according to new research by Dr Lise Aksglaede, University of Copenhagen.
