At last the new site can receive orders from the many customers who we know have viewed our site but have not been able to place orders. We look forward to satisfying your lingerie, swimwear and mastectomy requirements.

New Website
Welcome to the new Harwayes website, we still have a little bit of tidying up to do but we hope you enjoy the shopping, but please contact us if you have any issues or need some help and advice.
Playtex Offer and finally the mastectomy brochure
We have carried the Playtex offer through September but it must end midnight Nov 1.
WE have finally received the mastectomy brochures from the printers and will start to distribute them this week, please contact us if you are not on the mailing list or require one for a friend or relative.
jamu is coming Playtex and more
As promised we are continuing to work to bring new ranges to the Harwayes site, this week we are starting to add the jamu range of mastectomy lingerie and swim wear which we believe brings a new freshness and a splash of colour to mastectomy wear.
The new website is now only a few weeks away which we know will improve the experience of using the Harwayes site with its pleasing colours and presentation.
Not only that the mastectomy mail order catalogue is at the printers so is just days away.
Plus we are adding new ranges from Fantasie, Freya, Chantelle and Lejaby and they are the ones I can remember.
Just to add to the good news we are continuing the Playtex offer on girdles and corselettes for a little longer.

Just need an extra few days in the week.
Have fun.
Playtex Girdle and Corset Offer
Until the end of September we are please to offer you £10 off Playtex Corsellettes and £5 off Playtex Girdles. Please be quick so as not to miss out
Six months down the road
Its hard to believe it is six months since we took over the Harwayes online business but we believe we are starting to get there, we wanted to take time to update you on what we have been up to.
We have added a number of new fashion lines and brands, such as Chantelle and Amoena, and intend to add more in the coming weeks.
We have recently commissioned a new website as the existing one is now about six years old, we hope the new one will be more user friendly and more pleasing on the eye, it will also enable us to sell our products internationally, which we cannot do now, the site is about 6 weeks away from completion.
We also hope to have a new mastectomy mail order catalogue available in the next two weeks, again we have added new products and brands such as Amoena headscarves and tops.
It is also our intention to have our product available for delivery from stock, and as we understand better what the needs of our customers are we are achieving this.
As always we welcome your input, so if there is anything you struggle to get or we have missed since the demise of the Harwayes shops please tell us and we will do our best to accomodate.
Best wishes
Janine

A Pinch of Saffron
Featured
We are pleased and excited to announce that on Tuesday 29 March, Harwayes was purchased from Katy Brown Ltd by Saffron Lingerie of Stafford.
But who is Saffron?
Saffron was started by Janine Taylor in 2006 who, together with her fully trained staff have operated Saffron Lingerie, a beautiful retail outlet in Stafford town centre. Saffron will continue to operate and retain its own unique identity.
But what about Harwayes you may ask, rest assured we intend to continue to provide you with the same range of products that Katy has, however, we would also like to add a Pinch of Saffron and expand and enhance the Harwayes website giving you all the products that you are used to but also adding new brands and accessories for you to consider and try.
Of Course you can also come and see us in Stafford where we are hightly regarded for our excellent fitting service and the lovely friendly and relaxed atmosphere of the shop.
This is an exciting time for us and we want you to be part of it by letting us know what you would like to see, but please bare with us whilst we intergrate and update the site.
Celebrate Curves with The Big Ballet in Peterborough
We Love The Big Ballet – The Size Does Matter Tour
“A comedy ballet of weighty elegance and adorable humour”
A ballet like no other ever seen before in the UK, Amande Concerts presents The Big Ballet, an ensemble of 16 Corps de Ballet dancers, each weighing no less than 16-Stone and united in a common cause; not to lose a single pound.
From Russia’s Ural mountains, a region from where Tchaikovsky himself hails, The Big Ballet formed in 1994 and set out to deliberately and, above all, self-confidently challenge accepted social standards in a world where the pursuit of slenderness and beauty seems obsessive. The dancers courageously and imposingly prove that grace, elegance, charisma and nimbleness is not the demesne of the “thin”, proudly presenting their voluptuous yet surprisingly sinuous and flexible figures.

Expanding Waistlines Linked to Genes
Scientists at the University of Oxford have found a link between the FTO (fat mass and obesity associated) gene and increased body weight.
Back in 2007, scientists discovered that people with two copies of a variant within the FTO gene are on average 3kg heavier than those without it, affecting 16% of all Europeans.
“Convincing Proof that the FTO gene causes obesity” says lead researcher.
In the latest research, published in Nature Genetics this week, scientists bred mice with extra copies of the gene, which ate more and became fatter than normal mice. After 20 weeks female mice with two copies of the FTO gene were 22% heavier than normal and male mice were 10% heavier – although researchers did comment that the weight differences in humans were unlikely to be as large.
The next stage of research will focus on why the FTO gene causes obesity, for example, whether it increases appetite or alters messages from our fat stores.
Professor Frances Ashcroft of Oxford University commented: ‘We can now think about developing drugs that turn down the activity of the FTO gene as potential anti-obesity pills – that’s a long way off and there’s no certainty of success, but it’s an enticing prospect.’
