New Royce Chloe Mastectomy Bra

Royce Chloe Bra

Royce Chloe Bra

The new Chloe mastectomy bra by Royce is being modelled here by Kelly Short, who appeared on the TV programme ‘How to Look Good Naked’.

Kelly had completely lost her confidence through breast cancer but just look at her now, looking gorgeous and feeling fabulous again.

She commented, “I was particularly excited to model the new style ‘Chloe’, which as well as being comfortable, is utterly gorgeous! The response from the TV programme has been unbelievable and I hope that my story will continue to inspire other women in a similar situation.”

The Chloe is a pretty grey marl bra with cream lace detail.
Non-wired bra with lightly padded cups in A – DD.  Extra soft fabric ensures absolute comfort every day.

My PR Photography Day and Dove’s Campaign For Real Beauty

Well I’m glad to say it’s over and I don’t plan to be on the wrong side of the camera lens for a while – my PR photography is done so at least I can put a face to the company. I think it is important to present a personal image for the company – it really isn’t an ego trip so much as a signature, a kind of buyer security – I am a real person, you can trust and rely on my products, in the same way as celebrity chefs put their signature on cookware. I will load a few pics on here at some point.

In the meantime, check out this video from Dove (the toiletery brand). They have a campaign for ‘Real Beauty’ and I think this video sums up what fashion photographers and designers really do to images of young women: It is quite short (20 seconds perhaps) and shows the transformation of a model from when she arrives at the studio to when she appears on a cosmetics poster. Show it to your young teenaged sons and daughters – its a real eye opener and well worth a look.

No Wonder our Perception of Beauty is Distorted

Thanks to Rev. Mark Warwick for bringing this video to my attention.

New catalogue - out soon

New catalogue - out soon

I’m working late nights to get the new mastectomy lingerie catalogue ready and out to customers before the christmas holidays!

The mail order catalogue includes pocketed cotton bras, camisole style bras, bras for the fuller figure, lingerie sets and, best of all, new luxurious, pocketed feminine nightwear and loungewear just in time for Christmas.

The catalogue is available to individuals, hospital wards, breast care nurses, surgeons and consultants. To request a copy please send an email to enquiries@harwayeslingerie.com.

Mastectomy bra for small cups

Speaking to one of the breast care nurse specialists recently, we came to the conclusion that manufacturers are now starting to see the requirement for big cups in mastectomy lingerie, but what about small cups? There is a very practical bra made by Anita that comes in AA cup right from 32 up to 46.  This is the Anita cool cotton mesh bra to be found in our new catalogue, and just added to the web site: price £29.00.

Follow the link to order: http://www.harwayeslingerie.com/product.asp?pid=531 or phone on 01780 766 936 if you don’t see your size.

2010 Lingerie Design Trends

Triumph: excellence of fit

Triumph: excellence of fit

When selecting new lingerie for a mail order and web business, the key is to stay one step ahead of fashion and ensure products selected for the next season are bang on-trend.

Harwayes wasn’t traditionally a fashion led business: The purchasing policy was that of selecting bras that fit really well, so brands such as Triumph and Playtex have always been, and continue to be at the fore. However, with new brands seemingly popping up daily, and every celeb endorsing a lingerie launch, how is a retailer to continue to ensure excellence of fit, whilst responding to the demand for fashionable undies?

Luckily, some of our newer suppliers have made it their mission to put fit first. This is why we have chosen to feature DiMurini, Royce, HotMilk, Fantasie, Elomi and Bravado in our new collections for the Spring.

The collections encompass ‘dressing up box’ feathers, polka dots, taffeta and ribbons, architectural slate and charcoal greys, layers of antique ‘shabby chic’ french embroidery, lacing and bows galore and a preponderance of raspberry pink …. and we haven’t even started on the swimwear yet!

We hope you enjoy the new collections, keep an eye on the website for all the latest in bra design!

The joys of mail order catalogue production!

Dimurini pocketed camisole and PJs

Dimurini pocketed camisole and PJs

I ended up at the printers 3 times, once with the designer today to iron out last minute problems with the catalogue print. However, the long awaited mastectomy lingerie catalogue will be on it’s way to customers by the end of the week, so request your copy now!

The main problem was ensuring even skin tones from photos produced in different studios by the various manufacturers and ensuring the models didn’t look too yellow or pink! We got there in the end and the result is a fresh, lively approach to lingerie presentation, which I hope customers will like.

In the run-up to Christmas we are featuring the NEW Dimurini lingerie, illustrated. Why not treat yourself or a loved one to these fabulous satin and modal PJs, or the glamorous babydoll and robe? Have a look at the full range at www.harwayeslingerie.com/dimurini/.

Harwayes mastectomy catalogue

Finally it’s gone!! I’ve just sent my catalogue copy for the Harwayes ‘Post Surgery Bra Range’ off to the designer, now just need to work on photo positions, proof reading etc.  I LOVE writing catalogue copy, its absolutely my favourite bit of the job, but it takes forever to tweak here and there to get it completely right, in a logical order and check check check prices, codes, grammar.

I hope the result is a systematic approach to product display that helps the customer to choose between options and quickly find styles that will suit them.

At last, a fashion led approach to mastectomy lingerie: bras that are comfortable and look good too, making you feel sexy and feminine again.

The catalogue is to be published November. If you would like a copy, send me an email and I’ll add you to our list.

The blogs, Facebook, twitter etc go pretty quiet for a while when I’m focussed on a catalogue project… Next up, Maternity wear, swimwear. The good news is swim skirts are in fashion again ladies, so no more baring the bits you don’t want to.
